Low-Light Rifle and Pistol (Night Shoot)

Disclaimer: If you attend this class, it is recommended that—for safety purposes—you take the rest of the day off to recover from the late night of training. Please plan accordingly. This course will begin at 9:00 pm the night before.

Training:
This 8 hour low light applications course is designed to teach the use of weapon mounted lights for patrol officers and tactical team members.  We will take an in depth look at the science behind our use of photons and how to defeat photonic barriers or use them to our advantage by seeing light as terrain.  Inside the shoot house we will cover proper lighting and searching techniques as well as proper identification of threats especially in deep angles of exposure where traditional techniques are failing us.

Selecting the right equipment for you job is critical and considerations should be given to the modern advancements in lights that have occurred in the last 5 years. These advantages will be discussed as well as how to develop a course of action for your department to acquire, equip and train your officers in a way that makes it difficult for administrators to turn you down.

Patrol Structure Clearing (CQB)
Sunday December 22, 2024 8:00am - 5:00pm MST
Patrol officers clear more structures than any other unit or team in policing and usually with only 1-2 officers with limited resources. This course will discuss the Principles of CQB and how those apply to Patrol Officers. We will discuss and demonstrate how to efficiently, effectively, and safely clear structures with using tools that are commonly available in a patrol function.

Additional discussion points will include:
• Proper tactics, techniques, and strategies that Officers can use..
• Recognizing a barricaded subject and having plans in place for emergencies.

Weapons Manipulation (Rifle and handgun)

Priorities of work inside a room
Identifying a barricade

Equipment:
Duty belt and weapons with UTM or Sims conversions for both weapon systems if accessible.
Ammo: 60 rds 5.56 and 45 rds for 9mm UTM
